Oklahoma president, AD meet with Pac-10 officials

NORMAN, Okla. — Pacific-10 Conference officials met Saturday with top University of Oklahoma officials, a spokesman for the university’s president said.

Jay Doyle, a spokesman for Oklahoma President David Boren, said Boren and athletic director Joe Castiglione “had a very cordial and informative meeting” with Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott and deputy commissioner Kevin Weiberg. Doyle would not elaborate.

The university’s regents will meet Wednesday “to weight possible conference options,” Doyle said.

Weiberg is a former commissioner of the Big 12, which lost Colorado to the Pac-10 and Nebraska to the Big Ten last week.

An Oklahoma State official, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the discussions, confirmed that Scott also met with OSU President Burns Hargis and athletic director Mike Holder on Saturday.
