Obama to deliver commencement address at Hampton
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will deliver his second commencement speech in as many weeks when he visits Hampton University in southeastern Virginia.
Obama was headed to the historically black college Sunday. The White House said he will speak to graduates about the importance of education and being good citizens.
It’s his first speech as president at a historically black college.
The president gave his first commencement address of the season on May 1 at the University of Michigan, where he called for a more civil public discourse.
Obama has two more graduation speeches on his calendar: at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., on May 22, and at Kalamazoo Central High School on June 10.
