Pa. 5th-grader’s ‘death list’ left in library book
BUTLER, Pa. — School administrators say a Pennsylvania fifth-grader made a “death list” with a dozen names written on it and stuck it inside a library book.
Butler Area School District Superintendent Edward Fink says a student discovered the list of a dozen first names Monday at Broad Street Elementary School in Butler, about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh. The words “death list” were written across the top of the note.
The student alerted school officials, who traced the list to a fifth-grader who had checked the book out previously. Fink says the school alerted the child’s parents and the fifth-grader acknowledged creating the list.
Fink says the student has been disciplined and the matter turned over to police.
