CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Two people familiar with the NCAA investigation at North Carolina say the school will discuss academic violations within the football program at a news conference Thursday night.
Coach Butch Davis, athletic director Dick Baddour and chancellor Holden Thorp met with the team on Thursday afternoon, the people told The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the NCAA probe is ongoing.
The players were told there would be a news conference pertaining to academic violations within the program as well as the current NCAA investigation.
The NCAA has been looking primarily into whether defensive tackle Marvin Austin and receiver Greg Little received improper benefits from agents.
