DALLAS (GaeaTimes.com)- SMU (Southern Methodist University) students might have to park their cars someplace else as the University Park City Council is looking forward to a new parking limits plan which is soon to be enforced in the region. Reportedly, the officials of University Park City Council held a primary meeting discussing their parking limits plan for the east and west side of SMU University.
The plan happens to be a follow up action after the local police received several complaints from the local residents for heavy parking by the SMU students both at the east as well as on the west side of SMU university. Gary Adams who happens to be the chief-in-charge for the local police told the University Park City Council that this is a serious issue which has to be addressed at any cost. The local residents complained that the students of SMU University have been parking their cars all over the neighborhood when there is a shortage of parking space in the university campus. According tho the proposed parking limit plan one shall have to $20 as the first permit fee. Following that there shall be another $15 for the second permit. Any guests visiting the local residents shall not be be affected by the plan but they shall have to collect guest permits for the same.
In reaction to the complaints a SMU spokesperson Kent Best told the media that SMU is coming up with a new parking space on the south side of the School of Education and Human Development. This parking space shall be able to accommodate 85 cars in total but one has to wait till the building is completed in the upcoming month of August.
