Anamika Veeramani Wins Scripps National Spelling Bee

OHIO (GaeaTimes.com)- Anamika Veeramani who happens to be 14 years old surprised one and all with her winning of the 83rd Scripps National Spelling Bee competition. Reportedly, Anamika Veeramani was one among a total of 273 spellers who had taken part in the Scripps National Spelling Bee competition that was held at the Washington’s Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Anamika Veeramani rightly spelled out the word “stromuhr” which is a medical term assigned for a rheometer device that measures the total amount of blood flowing through an artery. Anamika Veeramani was the only one who spelled out the word correctly which no body else managed to do. Chris Harrison was the host for the evening and the program was aired live by ABC straight from the Grand Hyatt Hotel. When asked about her ambition in life, Anamika Veeramani said that she wants to be a cardiovascular surgeon. Well that defines how she spelled out the word “stromuhr” without any hassle. Anamika Veeramani was excited and overjoyed after she won the competition.

Anamika Veeramani said that it was like her “dream come true”. When asked about her future plans she said that she plans to study at Harvard because she feels that its the best place which shall help her to fulfill her dreams of becoming a cardiovascular surgeon. As the winner of the 83rd Scripps National Spelling Bee competition, Anamika Veeramani received E.W. Scripps trophy and the winning amount of 30000 dollars. Along with that she was handed over a saving bond of 2500 dollars and another 3499 dollars from Encyclopedia Britannica. Anamika Veeramani also bagged a scholarship worth 5000 dollars from Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation.
