Amazon.com’s textbook buyback plan hits 1M titles

SEATTLE — Amazon.com Inc. said Monday it now has a million textbooks in a buyback program that lets customers trade in used textbooks.

The online retailer’s “Textbook Buyback” program will give students a gift card once they trade in a textbook. The gift card can be used to buy textbooks or other products on Amazon.com.

Shares of Amazon.com, based in Seattle, rose $6.31, or 5 percent, to $131.29 on Monday, amid a broad stock market rally.
