PATNA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Bihar Prashasnik Sudhar Mission (BPSM) has awakened to the importance of computer literacy for increased efficiency in its day to day functioning. In an attempt to teach computers to all the B and C level officers working under the Bihar Prashashnik Sudhar Mission, it has entered into an agreement with the DOEACC Society in New Delhi for the same.

This step towards computer literacy will ultimately help in a better functioning of the government said a representative from the BPSM. The DOEACC, a body functioning under the central government of India, has been a pioneer among institutions that provide computer education in the country. It is said that the curriculum of the DOEACC is in keeping with the requirements of the present-day needs of different organizations.

Although nothing has been finalised about the start date of the computer training program, it has been announced that the Department For International Development (DFID) will provide the funds required for the enactment of the program to the Bihar Prashashnik Sudhar Mission. Deepak Kumar, the director of BPSM said that the government officials who will have to enroll their names in the DOEACC program will be given a pass certificate only after completion of the program. Stressing on the importance of knowing computers today, Deepak Kumar says that not only the B and C officials, all other grades of government officers may in the future have to know computers, adding that the Bihar government has plans to make computer literacy a compulsory requirement for appointment as well as promotions in their respective fields.
