Global academic ’roundtable’ in Gujarat Jan 10

GANDHINAGAR - As part of the ensuing Vibrant Gujarat 2011 Summit, the state government Friday announced ‘International Roundtable for Academic Institutions’ (IRAI) to be held here Jan 10.
The IRAI aims to connect several international academic institutes with various Gujarat universities. The ’roundtable’ is designed to bring together renowned leaders, academicians and opinion-makers to explore and finalise international collaborations and tie-ups.
The IRAI will see deans, directors and senior faculty heads from about 15 international universities.
Gujarat is home to several globally eminent academic institutes like the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad; Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar; National Institute of Design (NID) and Gujarat National Law University (GNLU).
The state has 28 universities and over 1,400 institutes of higher education affiliated to these universities catering to over seven million students.
