Volkswagen India signs MoU with Rayat Bahra group

CHANDIGARH - Volkswagen India Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Punjab-based education group Rayat Bahra, under which the auto firm will impart technical training to engineering students.

Volkswagen has launched its comprehensive manpower development programme called VG-TAP (Volkswagen Group Technical Education Programme) to have a ready pool of professionals. Rayat Bahra is the first educational group to sign this MoU with Volkswagen.

“With these co-operations we will create employable talent not only for Volkswagen India but for the whole industry. We have zeroed in on 10 institutions in India, to sign similar MoUs. After Rayat Bahra, we will move towards institutions in Bangalore, Pune, Delhi and Kochi,” said Dietmar Hildebrandt, director (group service), National Sales Corporation, Volkswagen India Private Limited, here Wednesday.

GS Bahara, chairman of Rayat Bahra group said, We are looking at engaging with Volkswagen for its expertise in automobile technology. It will help us to strengthen the potential of our students by equipping them with the required skill-sets to gain easy employment.
