Delhi University to get woman vice chancellor?

NEW DELHI - Meenakshi Gopinath, principal of Lady Shri Ram College, may become the first woman vice chancellor of Delhi University, informed sources said Thursday.

Deepak Pental’s five-year term as vice chancellor has ended, a senior university official said. “From what we know, Meenakshi Gopinath will take over this month. It’s not official yet.

“It will be the first time ever the university will have a woman vice chancellor,” the official told IANS. Pental had succeeded Deepak Nayyar Sep 1, 2005.
