NEW DELHI - The Delhi government has collected Rs.33 crore in the first five months of this financial year through registration of properties compared to just 1.24 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, Revenue Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan said Tuesday.

Chauhan said the collection was higher during the months of July and August. From April to June, Rs.58.93 lakh was received as registration fee.

“This increase was due to the implementation of new amended registration fee in the month of July this year,” he said, adding that during the years 2007-08 and 2008-09, the government had received Rs.1.48 crore and Rs 1.38 crore as registration fee respectively.
