Digital River buys Journey Education Marketing
MINNEAPOLIS — Digital River Inc. on Tuesday said that it has bought online software and book retailer Journey Education Marketing Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
Digital River, which provides technology and services for companies that sell products online, said it expects Dallas-based JourneyEd to add it its earnings in 2011.
JourneyEd sells software, hardware and related books to students and teachers. Geared for elementary school through college, its titles area from companies including Microsoft, Adobe and Leapfrog.
JourneyEd also manages online sales of related items by retailers. College bookstores and national bookstore chains partner with the company through its Journey and Academic Superstore brands.
Digital River shares slipped 13 cents to $29.83 in afternoon trading. The stock has changed hands between $21.83 and $41 in the past 52 weeks.
