UConn replaces assistant coaches after NCAA probe
STORRS, Conn. — Connecticut has hired two men with strong ties to the men’s basketball program to replace assistant coaches who resigned amid an NCAA investigation.
The school announced Friday that Kevin Ollie, a former UConn point guard who played 13 seasons in the NBA, has been hired as an assistant coach.
Former Pennsylvania coach Glenn Miller, who began his coaching career as an assistant at UConn, has been hired as director of men’s basketball administration.
They replace Patrick Sellers and Beau Archibald, who stepped down in May after being accused of providing false and misleading information during an NCAA investigation of alleged recruiting violations at the school.
The school is preparing a response to the NCAA’s finding of eight major violations.
