JHAJJAR - Aiming to provide better facilities for teachers, the Haryana government will set up Shiksha Sadans or rest-houses in both rural and urban areas in the coming months, officials said here Sunday.

“We are committed to provide better facilities to government school teachers. A Shiksa Sadan would be a kind of a rest house for the teachers. Till date, there is only one Shiksha Sadan in the state at Panchkula,” Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal said.

“The issue of constructing Shiksha Sadans for teachers was discussed in the (just-concluded) national-level conference of education ministers at New Delhi. They would be opened across the state in the coming months as per the requirements,” she stated.

Bhukkal said a series of other benefits and incentives will also be offered to teachers to keep their morale high.

“The procedure of providing facilities like health insurance and various kinds of loans to teachers would be simplified so that the maximum number of teachers can avail the benefits that are being provided to them by the government,” she said.

“Currently, Haryana is ranked among leading states that provide quality education. There are primary schools within a radius of one km and secondary schools within a radius of three km in the state,” she pointed out.
