Former quarterback Oliver Luck heading back to West Virginia as school’s athletic director

West Virginia hires former QB Oliver Luck as AD
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former West Virginia quarterback Oliver Luck is returning to his alma mater as the school’s new athletic director.
The 50-year-old Luck replaces Ed Pastilong, who is retiring. After his career at WVU, Luck played for the NFL’s Houston Oilers and in the Canadian Football League. He is currently president of soccer’s Houston Dynamo.
The announcement was made Thursday by school president James P. Clements. Luck takes over July 1.
Luck played for the Mountaineers from 1978-81 and ended his career with a school-record 43 touchdown passes. He ranks fourth on the school’s passing list with 5,765 yards.
