LONDON - A British teenager who has not missed a single day in school since nursery says it is partly due to luck — he fell sick only during holidays.

Sixteen-year-old Stephen Booth, a resident of Stoke-on-Trent, has had a flawless attendance record for 12 consecutive years.

“I’ve just never been ill, I’ve never been so bad that I’ve needed a day off. I like school and I want to do well. I want to get good grades… I’m very proud of it,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.

“If I am ill, it’s generally only during school holidays. It’s just been a stroke of luck.”

His proud mother Karen said: “(Stephen) has got this natural ability, he loves Science. He’s not a typical teenager, he gets up at 6.30 a.m. to get up ready for school. He’s never even been late. He has realised that in order to get a good job, he needs good grades.”
