NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- A well known educational service provider company of United States which claimed in its advertisement that by taking its services the students can expect a rise of around 255 points in their original SAT scores was instructed by the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureau to remove that part of the advertisement. The Division took the decision when a charge against the Princeton Review Company was brought by a rival company named Kaplan, Inc. The division which looks into the accuracy of an advertisement said recently that it would like the company to “voluntarily discontinue certain advertising claims”.

However, the president of The Princeton Review Company, Scott Kirkpatrick has revealed to the media sources that irrespective of the National Advertising Division’s decision, the company was itself planning to remove the SAT scores boost statement from its advertisement. The President said that the company now wants to project itself as an educational service provider that provides personal care to students according to their need to increase their potentiality in the SAT exams. He said that the core aim of the company is not to be recognized as a “test-prep” company.

SAT is one of the most popular exams in United States and almost all the high school students try to sit for the exam to enter into colleges. The SAT scores therefore are very important and the numbers of such educational companies that claim to provide special guidance to students have also increased in numbers. However, a spokeswoman of the College Board has mentioned to media sources that such extra classes hardly affect the SAT scores of the students.
