ICSE Exam

KOLKATA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)-ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) Board shall be conducting a fresh exam for four candidates as the results are scheduled to come out on Wednesday. Reportedly, the ICSE board said that they were unable to trace the math papers of four candidates and hence decided to go forward with a fresh exam for the second time.

The four students got a call from the ICSE board of Council, Delhi and were informed of the situation on Saturday evening. They were asked to undertake a re-test for the maths paper and the minimum preparation time alloted to them was 72 hours. The incident has triggered criticisms hurled at the additional secretary and officiating chief executive of ICSE Gerry Arathoon. When asked about it she told the media that the Board has taken the decision owing to the urgency of the situation as the scripts of the four candidates went missing from the lot which was submitted seven weeks back. The Secretary also said that they completely understand the candidate’s state of the mind and shall do their best to ease away the tension of the candidate and make sure that they have no hassles answering their papers.

These four candidates are from different schools of Kolkata where the school authorities said that during the ICSE exam they were all marked present. However, the school authorities have no clue how the answer scripts went missing from the sealed packets in which all other answer scripts were taken away. The ICSE board had issued strict orders to the schools to make sure that the names of the students and the examination venue are kept secret as they believe this would create unnecessary trauma for the candidates.
