SJMSoM Reports Record Placements

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- There is no dearth of management institutes in India these days but not all of them can boast of good placements amidst the times of troubled economy. However, the Shailesh J Mehta School of Management in Mumbai or SJMSoM is an exception as it seems from its placements track records of 2010. The graduating batch of the institute which comprises of 83 students got as many as 108 job offers from 68 recruiters. The jobs offered to the students were in the range of INR 700,000 to INR 2,100,000 per annum. The students even got some overseas offer from few companies. However, these companies did not disclose the remuneration packages.
The companies that offered plum jobs to the students of SJMSoM include Accenture, Deloitte and some more. The MNCs like Colgate Palmolive, Coca Cola and Johnson & Johnson made pre placement job offers to this batch. Around 26 percent of the batch got lucrative offers from the consulting sector where as 19% received IT related jobs. The giants from banking and FMCG sector also recruited a number of students from the batch.
Among the IT giants that offered jobs to the students of SJMSoM, Wipro, Cognizant and Infosys deserve mention. Compared to the previous batch of students graduating from the Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, the median salary of the recent batch is much higher. However, the media salary has not yet reached the level of pre recession phase. The institute management is upbeat about the placement this year and expects it to improve further next year.
