NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- There are a few business men in India who concentrate on other things than making their business revenues skyrocket and take on rival companies. Wipro Chairman Aziz Premzi is one such entrepreneur who with his philanthropic approach wants to contribute to the growth ad betterment of the country in his own way. That explains why he has set up the Aziz Premzi Foundation to provide top notch education to the underprivileged lot. The effort of the government of India to offer quality education to all segments of the society have proved to be largely ineffective as far as the lower segments of society is concerned. The success of the mid day meal programs and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan are lukewarm at best. The schools now see less numbers of dropouts but the quality of education remains under doubt.

Aziz Premzi Foundation has been set up to address the gap. The organization believes in working with state education departments to upgrade and better the learning quality in schools. The government has already a whopping 7 million teachers and support staff and spends INR 62000 crore after education in the country. Aziz Premzi Foundation uses this existing infrastructure to impart quality education to the students.

There are some other MNCS like IBM and Intel who work with educational institutions in India but the USP of the Aziz Premzi Foundation is that it wants to impart quality education uniformly in the country and wants the effect to reach the grassroots levels of society. It currently works in 9 states of India and planning for expansion.
