MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- TISS Mumbai (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) Maharashtra has announced that it shall conduct the TISS Mumbai Third JTCDM International Roundtable on ‘Humanitarian Logistics: Scope and Challenges’ on the pre-scheduled dates of April 21 & April 22. Reportedly, TISS Mumbai and its roundtable conference is a major step of benevolence which shall create and give shape to synergies existing between all government and non government organizations. TISS Mumbai conference shall also witness a blend of corporate and civil society undertakings. Together, TISS Mumbai aims to offer the very best of humanitarian response achieved through cumulative coordination from all sources.

TISS Mumbai’s roundtable conference shall be focusing upon a variety of issues, operations and themes. In the conference, the papers will be focused on various themes such as Integrated Logistics Systems for disasters, Humanitarian Logistics: Frameworks, Perspectives and Theories in SCM, Challenges in procurement, packaging, stocking, government response systems and the challenges they face. TISS Mumbai shall also focus upon dominating issues like transportation networks and last mile delivery, organizational structures for managing disaster logistics, financial issues in humanitarian logistics, information technology in humanitarian logistics, aid logistics, performance measurement and accountability, health and humanitarian logistics, use of GIS in disaster logistics, lessons from the armed forces along with logistics challenges in conflict zones as well as the lessons from case studies.

TISS Mumbai which came into existence in 1936 formerly came to be known as Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. Moving ahead it was transformed in to TISS in 1964. TISS Mumbai has been striving towards the achievement of the very best of educational programs for one and all.
