CHANDIGARH - Thailand will conduct a quiz contest for students and teachers here to attract tourists from this part of northern India to their country.

Besides cash prizes, students attaining top three positions and teachers bagging top two spots will get a free trip to Thailand.

“Indian tourists are very important for Thailand. Over 614,000 Indians visited Thailand last year. Punjab is particularly very important as nearly 15 percent of the tourists were from Punjab,” Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, director of tourism authority of Thailand in India, told IANS.

The quiz is organised by city-based Athena Ventures in association with the Chandigarh tourism department and Thailand Tourism.

Teachers and students from nearly 40 schools are participating in this competition.
