Punjab B-school gets approval to use GRE score

CHANDIGARH - Punjab-based Aryans Business School (ABS) has become the first private business school in the region to get approval from the US-based Education Testing Service (ETS) to use Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score for admitting students.

In India, around 15 business schools and universities, including some IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) and the ISB (Indian School of Business), have been permitted by ETS to use GRE scores. ABS is the first in this region to get this coveted nod that depicts our hard-work and competence, ABS chairman Anshu Kataria told reporters Sunday evening.

Mission of every business school is to get associated with the world’s top MBA entrance exam like GMAT, GRE and CAT to get quality students for admission. This will also help in attracting quality students and top national and international companies for campus placement.

A few weeks back ABS had also got the approval from the US-based Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) to use Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score.

According to official records, each year over 600,000 students from nearly 200 countries take the GRE general test. The score is accepted at more than 3,200 graduate and business schools in the world.

The ABS is located in Nepra village of Punjab, about 25 km from here.
