CHANDIGARH - The Haryana government has asked all the recognised private schools in the state to reserve 25 percent of their seats for economically weaker sections, an official said here Wednesday.

The reservation would be made available to the students from the academic session 2010-11.

“Private schools have been asked to send compliance report to the education department. This procedure has been made mandatory under Section 134-A of the Haryana School Education Rules, 2009, the government spokesman said.

During admissions, priority would be accorded to talented students from the weaker sections. They would be charged the same fee as that in government schools. Strict action would be taken against those schools which violate these orders,” he added.
