BHOPAL - Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister Archana Chitnis has urged people’s representatives to cooperate in the successful implementation of the Right to Education act that came into force across the country Thursday.

“With the implementation of the act while it has become the constitutional duty of the government to ensure free and mandatory education for all children aged between six to 14 years up to Class 8, everyone should play an important role in this task,” Chitnis said in a statement.

The minister said it was essential to see that children who are enrolled in schools do not stop attending classes, and appealed to the people’s representatives and parents to motivate children to attend schools.

She said that people’s representatives should also undertake tours for motivating villagers to send their children to schools.
