Savannah State defeats Carver Bible College 94-68
SAVANNAH, Ga. — Tracy Rankins tied his season high with 25 points and Arnold Louis and Rashad Hassan had double-doubles as Savannah State ended its season with a 94-68 rout of Carver Bible College on Friday night.
Louis had 16 points and 14 rebounds and Hassan had 14 points and 14 boards for the Tigers (11-15).
Carver Bible College stayed close the first 8 minutes, with Savannah State leading 16-15 with 11:58 to go. The Tigers then started to pull away and led by as many as 18 before taking a 51-38 halftime advantage.
The Cougars cut the deficit to five at 65-60 with 10:03 left, but the Tigers regained the momentum with a 9-0 run.
Savannah State hit 8 of 19 3-pointers while Carver Bible College was 0-for-13 from beyond the arc.
Marius Chawa added 17 points for the Tigers and Preston Blackmon chipped in 14.
James Barbee and Nicholas Hood led Carver with 15 points apiece.
