Domino’s CEO to step down, replacement named
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Domino’s Pizza Inc. said Tuesday its CEO will step down after more than a decade at the helm of the pizza delivery chain for a job with the University of Michigan and will be replaced by the president of its Domino’s USA unit.
David A. Brandon, 57, is stepping down March 7 to become the University of Michigan’s athletic director. He has been chairman and CEO of Domino’s since March 1999 and is the second-ever leader of the company that was founded in 1960 by former CEO Tom Monaghan.
He will stay on with Domino’s as a special advisor for the rest of the year and will become the pizza chain’s non-executive chairman.
Brandon will be replaced as CEO by Patrick Doyle, 45. Doyle joined the company in 1997 and has been president of Domino’s USA since 2007. Before that he was an executive at Gerber Products Co.
Details about the transition will be completed over the next several weeks and voted on at the company’s Feb. 24 board meeting, Domino’s said.
