Delhi schools to remain closed till Jan 13

NEW DELHI - The Delhi government Saturday ordered closure of all public and government schools in the city till Jan 13 as a cold wave continued to sweep the national capital, officials said.
“Due to extreme cold, all public, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Delhi Cantonment Board schools in the city will be closed till Jan 13,” said Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely.
The city government Wednesday had announced the closure of schools till Jan 10.
The cold wave has been sweeping north India since the past one week with the mercury remaining below the average in the city.
