Health minister inaugurates hospital in Mumbai

MUMBAI - Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad Monday inaugurated a 330-bed multi-specialty, tertiary-care hospital in the Mumbai suburb of Meera Road.

“Our primary focus would be on providing critical care across multiple specialties. Patient-centric care supported with state-of-the-art infrastructure will drive the spectrum of services at the hospital,” said Dr. Rajendra Sharma, chief executive officer of Umrao Hospitals.

“Apart from serving the patients of far off western suburbs, we would also focus on towns stretching from the suburb of Borivali to Vapi town in Gujarat,” Sharma added.

Commemorating the occassion, Digvijay Singh, general secretary of All India Congress Committee, released a book on the life of Syed Nazar Hussain, the chairman of the Umrao Institute of Medical Science & Research Trust.

The foundation stones for the Umrao College of Nursing Education & Asmita College of Architecture were also laid on the occasion.

Umrao Hospitals marks the healthcare foray of Asmita Group, which has a strong presence in infrastructure and education sectors.
