Obama implores young voters not to lose heart or become apathetic

Obama asks students to stick with him this fall

MADISON, Wis. — President Barack Obama is telling young voters they must not become discouraged and let Republicans retake control of the federal government in the Nov. 2 elections.

Obama told thousands of students at the University of Wisconsin on Tuesday, “you’ve got to stick with me, you can’t lose heart.”

Obama said the biggest mistake they could make would be to become apathetic and decide not to vote.

He said, “change is going to come for this generation if we work for it, if we fight for it, if we believe in it.”
