NEW DELHI - The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) University kickstarted its three-day green cultural festival ‘Aahvaan 2010′ Friday. This year’s theme ‘Towards zilch lifestyle’ is aimed at promoting a zero waste lifestyle.

“All the activities and events will in some way promote the idea of zero waste lifestyle,” said the university’s media co-ordinator.

The students of various colleges Friday took part in events like photography competition, rangoli, face painting and games like “kabaad se jugaad” where all the waste from college was recycled and put into use.

The day ended with students dancing on various numbers, fluanting their black Aahvan organic cotton t-shirts.

R.K. Pachauri, chancellor of TERI, will interact with the students Saturday.

The university, which adopts the ‘green living’ concept in its institute from solar power to recycling of materials, offers various post graduate-courses.
