SANTINIKETAN - Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, interacting with students of Visva-Bharati here Tuesday, said allegations of corruption always draw applause but those who come up with solutions to such problems get no appreciation.

“When you bring corruption allegations, then many will applaud you, but when you think of doing some work against corruption, then only a few will appreciate you.

“But when you actually do some work to stop corruption, then there will be none by your side to clap,” he said during a question-answer session with students of the Visva-Bharati university.

Gandhi’s reply came to a poser from a research scholar about corruption in Visva-Bharati university and the way out of the mess.

“I know there is corruption. I know corruption is everywhere. But you are a senior research scholar. You are very educated. So people like you should come forward. You tell me the solution,” he told the student, a source present at the session told IANS.
