NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- After being hit by the recession last year, the IT industry has again returned to its past glory. According to the latest reports from the industry, the number of freshers to be appointed in the IT industry will be almost double this year when compared to the previous year. NIIT, a national IT training firm has released figures which state that freshers’ recruitment will go up from one lakh in the year 2009 to two lakhs this year.
The good news is that not only the IT industry, but also other sectors of the economy will witness a boom in recruitment in the current fiscal year. NIIT on the other hand has announced a 14% increase in the number of students who can seek enrollment in the training institute starting from the month of June. This step has been taken keeping in mind the 32 percent increase in NIIT’s total profit last year.
Along with the IT industry, banking and insurance are the other two sectors which will see the maximum number of recruitments in the current fiscal year predicted Vijay Thadani, the Chief Executive Officer of NIIT. Vijay Thadani also announced that NIIT has plans to inaugurate new learning centers all over the country very soon. While the year 2009 had come as a big blow to the engineers and IT specialists with major companies like the TCS and Infosys making a large scale cut on recruitments, this year brings in new hopes for the young It professionals of the country. NIIT being the largest private sector training company in India the figures released by them are hopefully reliable.
