NEW DELHI - The Supreme Court Friday asked Andhra Pradesh to file a reply on a petition seeking to initiate contempt proceedings against the state government for breaching the court’s interim order in the appointment of secondary grade teachers.

The vacation bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice R.M. Lodha and Justice A.K. Patnaik gave the state government four weeks to file the reply.

Even as the state government’s counsel D.Bharthi Reddy denied any breach of the court’s interim order, Justice Lodha said: “Prima facie there is something that needs to be stated in writing that under what circumstances the GO (government order) was issued.”
