NEW DELHI - Three students of the Jamia Millia University have been selected to attend a Summer School on ‘Muslims in the West’ to be held in Germany in August.
They are among a group of 15 students selected from across the world to attend the ‘International Summer School’ organised by the Chair of Islamic Studies at the University of Erfurt Aug 14-29.
The two-week workshop will address contemporary debates related to the subject. The summer school has been a successful vehicle for strengthening dialogue on “Islam” and the “West”.
The goal of the workshop is to provide students to experience the pluralistic structure of Islam in the European context, not just between Muslims and non-Muslims but also among Muslims themselves.
The Summer School will be chaired by Jamal Malik, Chair of Islamic Studies in the University of Erfurt.
