LUCKNOW - The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of North Carolina (UNC) in the US for research and academic exchange, an official said.
“The agreement aims to promote exchange of information and material that are of mutual interest of the two premier institutions. The MoU would facilitate exchange of academic, administrative, research staff and visits of scholars and students,” AMU’s assistant public relations officer Zeeshan Ahmad told reporters in Aligarh, some 300 km from Lucknow.
“The agreement will remain in force initially for five years. It primarily aims to establish the terms and conditions that facilitate the summer programme of the UNC during which their students could visit the AMU,” he added.
According to officials, the agreement was signed by AMU Registrar V.K. Abdul Jaleel and the leader of the visiting team Afroz N. Taj of the department of Asian Studies of the UNC.
