Sibal to meet Hillary Clinton

NEW DELHI - Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal is scheduled to meet US Secretary for State Hillary Clinton Wednesday, an official statement said.
Before meeting Clinton, Sibal will meet US Education Secretary Arne Duncan to discuss cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.
The minister is accompanying External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna for the first India-US strategic dialogue that starts Wednesday.
Sibal’s visit to US focuses on inviting US universities to set their campus in India and attracting investment in education sector, the statement said.
The visit follows the foreign universities bill tabled in the Lok Sabha during the budget session. The minister has also been pitching for increasing foreign direct investment in education.
The minister, who is in the US since Monday, also met representatives from various universities and American think tanks to discuss prospective investment in higher education in India.
