IIT Kanpur Raises Security Standards

KANPUR, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)-IIT (Indian Institute Of Technology) Kanpur is looking forward to raise the security standards in their campus. Reportedly, IIT Kanpur has received an alert issued by LIU (Local Intelligence Unit) along with the regular security alerts from the district police department. IIT Kanpur authorities told the media that they are upgrading the already existing security setup in the campus which they think will be at par with the security alert that has been issued by the police.

Eight CCTV ( Close Circuit Television) cameras has already been installed in the IIT Kanpur campus at all major places. Moreover, the IIT Kanpur security officials are planning on employing a smart chip on the cameras to identify all incoming vehicles with ease. 15 casually dressed private security officers have already been deployed at the IIT Kanpur campus. Rajeev Gupta who happens to be the Principal Research Engineer and Security In-charge for IIT Kanpur told the media that the local police as well as the senior officials from Local Intelligence Unit have been very helpful and kept them updated and informed about the security alerts. It was under their supervision that IIT Kanpur managed to draw out such an effective security plan for the safety of one and all in the campus.

On the other hand, the results of IIT-JEE (IIT Joint Entrance Exam) exam has been announced already and IIT Kanpur has put up the list of successful candidates near their security booth in the main campus area. IIT Kanpur authorities also said that security has been tightened for the day and all on duty officers have been asked to stay alert both inside and outside the IIT Kanpur campus.
