56 percent pay hike for IIM-C students

KOLKATA - Students of the post-graduate programme for executives at the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C) have got a 56 percent hike in their average salary package, a statement said Thursday.

“(There has been a) 56 percent increase in CTC (Cost to Company) on average package. From Rs.8 lakh average CTC last year, the final placement saw it rise to Rs.12.5 lakh,” the statement said.

The batch size in the Post Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) was 30 students and lasted for one year. Four of the students were sponsored by the manufacturing industries. The rest 26 students got placements with 35 companies.

The recruiters included Wipro, Tata Cummins, ITC, Voltas, TCS, Vedanta, HP, Cummins, Bharat McNally, Anand Group, Shinsei Bank and Wheels India.

The third batch of students enrolled for the programme had an average eight-year work experience.
