Girls outshine boys in ICSE, ISC exams

NEW DELHI - Girls outshone boys in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) exams for Classes 10 and 12 respectively, results for which were declared Wednesday.
The pass percentage of girls in Class 10 was 98.77 percent against 97.95 for boys, an official release from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), which conducts these examinations, said.
Similarly, the passing rate of girls stood at 98.26 per cent in Class 12 while it was 96.17 percent in case of boys.
Toppers in both the classes were girls, it added.
The passing percentage for Class 12 is up by 0.03 at 97.11 percent. For Class 10 students, the pass percentage is 98.3, 0.26 percent more than last year’s.
The release said 55,760 students took the Class 12 exams and 1,12,820 students took the Class 10 exams of the council.
