Calcutta Business School Unveils New Courses

KOLKATA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)-Calcutta Business School which is a S K Birla institute is going to launch a special management program aimed at the working executives. This is a step taken in the lines of premier institutions like IIM. The one year and there month long executive MBA program will be offered by the institute from the coming academic year, as it has been reported. Former IIM Calcutta director and a member of the institute’s board of governors, Subir Chowdhury, said that the first batch for this course will have 30 students and later the capacity would be doubled.
The course fee for the new executive management course of the Calcutta Business School would be around INR 900000 to 1000000. The institute began its classes two years back with just 27 students. The first convocation will take place on May 19. This year premier companies like HSBC, ITC Infotech, HDFC, IFB Industries, Eveready Industries etc recruited the students from this campus. The annual average remuneration of the recruited candidates is between INR 450000 and INR 550000.
Calcutta Business School will spend an amount of INR 75 crore to set up the new management school. It has plans to set up a centre of excellence for management programs. Asit Datta who sir the director of the institute said that it will be required to set up the necessary infrastructure and hostels. It is also eyeing tie up with some of the prestigious US based Business schools. This will help it in enriching the curriculum and the students will also be benefitted under exchange program.
