NEW DELHI - Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal has been conferred the Stephen P. Duggan Award for his support for global collaboration in education.

This has been announced by the New York based Institute of International Education (IIE), an official statement said Thursday.

In a letter to Sibal, Allan E. Goodman, CEO of IIE, said the award was for his “resolute support of global collaboration in education”.

The minister will receive the award at the 2010 International Awards Gala in New York City in September.

Former UN secretary general Kofi Annan and former US secretary of state Madeline Albright are among the previous winners.
