Zardari to chair special Sindh cabinet meeting Monday

KARACHI - Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned a special meeting of the Sindh cabinet Monday to review the performance of the provincial government.
The president would be briefed by the ministers on their performance in the education, health and irrigation works and services areas, Online news agency reported, quoting sources.
The president had received complaints on several occasions that the provincial education department had still not issued offer letters to the candidates who passed their teachers exams on merit, the sources added.
“Moreover several blue-eyed officers have been inducted in the Sindh education department. Corruption is spreading its tentacles in the education department and the provincial education minister is not implementing the orders of the Sindh government,” Online said.
The president has sought a report and an explanation from provincial Education Minister Mazharul Haq on these complaints.
Besides the education department the president would also look into the performances of other provincial departments.
