NEW DELHI - Delhi University officials will Monday interact with teachers of state government schools in order to make them more familiar with the admission process in the varsity so that they can advise their students accordingly.
According to an official of the varsity, the initiative was taken on the request of members of the Yuva counselling helpline which is flooded with phone calls from hapless students during exams and admission time.
“Through this interaction the university will advise schools regarding the admission process here. The schools will also be acquainted with the various courses offered by the colleges of the university,” said Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, dean of students welfare.
“The schools will further be told how to help students who have passed their Class 10 board exams choose their stream in the next class,” he added.
Similar interactions were also held Feb 13 and Feb 20.
The admissions process will begin in June.
