IIM Rohtak Starts Operations

HARYANA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The youngest IIM in India, IIM Rohtak is all set to start its operations. The IIM has invited applications from CAT 2009 pass outs. It is geared up to commence academic year 2010. It is being mentored by the IIM Lucknow and is offering a two year PGPM or Post Graduate Programme in Management. The interested and eligible candidates who want to apply for the course, can log in to the website of IIM Lucknow and download the application form of IIM Rohtak now. They need to send the form to the IIM Lucknow Admission officer. The deadline for receiving applications is April 20th.

IIM Rohtak charges a total of 600,000 INR for the two year course offered by it. IIM Rohtak also has plans to form an alliance with Kelley School of Business of Indiana University based in the USA. The alliance will be fruitful for the new IIM and it will comprise of faculty and student exchange programs, research, which will go a long way in benefitting the institution. IIM Ahmedabad has a similar tie up with Harvard University. The classes for the 1st semester will commence from July this year.

Last year, the government of India gave its nod for setting up 4 new IIMs in the country and IIM Rohtak was in the list along with three other located at Ranchi, Raipur and Tiruchirapalli. The construction work at the 170-acre campus is going on and till it gets complete, the classes will be taken at Maharshi Dayanand University. The IIM Lucknow is expecting huge number of applications for the seats.
