LUCKNOW, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Lucknow University annual examination schedule has been announced by the university authorities. However, there is still no certainty that the agitating teachers will attend the examinations and perform their duties as expected. There are chances that they just may boycott the exams. The teachers involved with the university are at loggerheads with the university authorities for the last few months due to arrear issues. They are asking for increased arrears that are said to be due from January 2006. The teachers want the implementation of UGC recommended pay scales. The students will be the worst affected lot in the university-teachers deadlock if it goes on for some more time.

The agitation of the Lucknow University teachers has already delayed its academic calendar. As the University authorities have said, the examinations will commence from March 22 and end by the middle of May. The practical examinations of the various departments of the university are also pending. The delay in holding the exams will invariably result in delay in publication of the results, as one can assume. The university authorities are keeping their fingers crossed as a lot depends on the next course of action taken by the teachers.

There is uncertainty among the teachers of the Lucknow University regarding the boycott of annual examinations of the university. While the hardliners want to boycott the exams, there are some teachers who feel that it will prove detrimental for the career of the students who are prepared to sit for the exams.
