MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- All hopes of State Government to include two new medical colleges for the current academic session was shattered with the approval list announced by MCI India on Tuesday. Reportedly,MCI India (Medical Council Of India) Board of Governors disapproved all plans of the state government to fulfill the vacuum of medical seats.

The two medical colleges which are currently being operated by the Gujarat Medical Education Research Society have been looking forward to their letter of permit from MCI India right after its inception. The first medical college is in Sola, Ahmadabad and the other college is situated at Gotri in Vadodra.Apart from the two colleges, the final list of MCI India approved colleges was a total spoiler for K. J. Mehta General Hospital and College of Medical Science located at Amargadh. In the first stage of approvals back in the month of March, the executive members of MCI India had granted permission to the college but on Tuesday they revoked the permit orders.

On the other hand, MCI India approved list of colleges brought good news for Adani Institute of Medical Sciences. Adani Institute of Medical Sciences was denied permission for operating the college with 150 odd seats for medical admissions. However, on Tuesday MCI India granted permission to the college to operate freely in the current as well as in the upcoming session. The Medical Council of India has also approved Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences to introduce Medical College of Imphal for the upcoming academic session. The assessment for the final list of approved colleges was performed by the MCI India Board in the month of June.
